Aggreko scrums down with Worcester Warriors
Aggreko, the global leader in temporary power and temperature
control solutions, is providing power to the new Slick Systems
Stand at Worcester Warriors RFC, until the club’s permanent power
supply is in place.
Part of a £9M re-development project, the new stand at the
Warriors’ 12,000 capacity Sixways Stadium includes a three-storey
corner block which houses corporate hospitality suites,
administrative offices and shops as well as a new catering kitchen,
but the existing power supply was inadequate to meet the needs of
the new facilities. Aggreko has supplied and installed two
generators; a 500kVA which operates 24/7 and a 125kVA, which is
used only on match days to provide additional power.
Shaun Roberts, Sixways Complex Manager at Worcester Warriors,
explains: “Now the construction of the Slick Systems Stand has been
completed, it was important for us to get everything up and running
as soon as possible, which is now placing pressure on the
electricity supply to the club.
“A new permanent power supply is scheduled to be connected early
in 2009, but in the meantime, we’re delighted with the standard and
performance of the generators which means we’ve been able to use
our new facilities now. We are extremely pleased with the level of
service we’ve received from Aggreko.”
Lee Knapper, sales engineer for Aggreko, said: “Our team has
vast experience in handling such projects, which meant we were able
to get the equipment in place and operational very quickly.
“With big crowds expected for key games such as the European
Challenge Cup clash with French club Bourgoin, it was important for
Worcester Warriors to have the Slick Systems Stand ready for
use.”
